Grass Identification courses, well this seems to be becoming a bit of a habit!! On Monday (22nd) we delivered another Grass ID course, this time for Plymouth City Council and held at Poole Farm. Poole Farm is a site in excess of 100 acres slap bang in the city - who'd have believed it!!?? The vibrant team there are working hard to ensure that there is a fabulous green space for local people in Plymouth to have on their doorstep and be able to visit. We had six attendees, who worked hard and began their journey of grass familiarisation - well done to all of you guys!
Yarner Wood, part of Natural England, have been working with us for several years now. We have been providing a significant amount of the training for their interns each year. We have just completed two full days with the current interns, introducing them to Botanical ID and recording skills. In the afternoon of the 2nd day, we had 2 more people join us for grass ID, one from Devon Wildlife Trust and one from Colmer Ecology. The days went well, we were lucky with the weather! and the participants responded extremely well to the training. Well done all you guys - great work!
