This is a one-day course aimed at plant enthusiasts with some prior knowledge, which could be completion of our introductory course on The Introduction to UK Flora, or a foundation module in botany and/or being a keen botanist. The course aims at developing knowledge on the anatomical features of plants that form the basis of plant identification and will take you through the major plant families, studying their key characteristics, taxonomy and adaptations to their habitat.
Materials will be provided to carry out optional drying and pressing of samples and a photography booth will be set up for those wishing to obtain detailed botanical characteristic on camera (participants should provide their own camera in this case, however a microcam will be in use and images from this can be forwarded to participants on request).
